Data Management and Sharing, and Open Evaluations Workshop

The Unjournal provided funding and support to  the “Data Management and Sharing, and Open Evaluations Workshop” at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, a workshop sponsored by the  Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in the Social Sciences (BITSS) on August 21.

As a part of the workshop, David Reinstein (The Unjournal’s Director) and Emmanuel Orkoh (Unjournal Management Team) discussed innovations in journal-independent open evaluation. They presented The Unjournal’s approach in context, and invited students’ and researchers’ participation in initiatives such as the “independent evaluations” project.

This workshop aimed to build the capacity of graduate students and researchers in developing countries to produce transparent, reproducible, and impactful research. It provided participants the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of open science practices and robust, replicable research processes and pipelines, and to build stronger global ties with cutting-edge researchers and institutions.
